Real Madrid round-up: Keylor and Pepe travel to Dortmund
Keylor Navas and Pepe travel to Germany and are both are back in contention after injuries as Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund in their key Champions League clash
Destination Dortmund
The Real Madrid squad travel to Dortmund on Monday morning (10am CET flight) ahead of their Champions League Group F clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday. Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo and co. will stay at the Hotel Radisson Blu after training at the Signal Iduna Park during the afternoon.
Keylor’s come back at last?
After being included in the Los Blancos matchday 16 for the first time this season on Saturday against Las Palmas (107 days after his Achilles tendon operation), the goalkeeper could make his first appearance between the sticks as Madrid face Dortmund on Tuesday evening. The last time the Costa Rican put on his gloves in a competitive match was the Champions League final on 28 May.
Pepe on the plane
Portuguese centre back Pepe was back in training on Sunday after missing the games against Las Palmas and Villarreal after taking a knock against Espanyol on LaLiga matchday three. Pepe travelled with the rest of the squad on Monday to Germany and will be back in contention for a place in the starting 11 against Dortmund
Legia Warsaw appoint new coach
Real Madrid’s other Champions League Group F rival, Legia Warsaw, have appointed former player Jacek Magiera as their new manager. The coach, who retired as player in 2006 after making 232 appearances for the club, has signed with a two-year contract with an option to extend it by a year.
