Calorie burner

Sexual intercourse results in exhaustion and involves a huge calorie intake which is why some football coaches have prohibited the activity before games. This was the case, for example, with Berti Vogts, former coach of Germany during the 90s. There is no empirical proof, but some experts say that having sex can consume between 150 and 300 calories.

This theory has registered with ex-footballer and now coach Malik Jabir. The former Ghana striker, who played through the 60s and 70s, believes that the league in the African country has not progressed as hoped because the players spend the hours prior to matches and training having sex which has had a direct negative impact on performances on the field.

Leave the girls alone

“A lot of today’s players cannot play 90 minutes because they get so tired easily. And you know why? Because they don’t sleep enough and don’t train enough and they engage in too much sex. There are beautiful young girls in Ghana and they won’t leave them alone.” Jabir said when speaking to a national radio station.

Sex and football don't mix

The current coach of Asante Kotoko explained that footballers in the country are not able to manage their time properly and therefore appeals to them to find the balance between sex and football:

"There is time for sex and time for football, but if you mix the two you will never reach the top," he said.
