Cristiano Ronaldo has six major challenges ahead in the five seasons that take him through to 2021 with his current club. The striker from Madeira joked on Monday that this would not be his last contract and hopes to play to the age of 41...
1.- 500 goals
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 371 goals in 360 games for Real Madrid, an impressive average of 52 goals per season in his eight campaigns with Madrid. If the Madeira born striker can maintain this level then it's feasible that this tally could total more than 600 goals.
The Portuguese striker is also Real Madrid's top scorer in the Champions League with his biggest goal haul coming in the 2014/15 season with a total of 61 strikes.
2.- Equal Messi in the Ballón d'Or ranking
Cristiano is favourite to secure another Ballón d'Or when the winners are announced in early January 2017. This would be the Portuguese player's fourth award and would put him just one behind Barça's Lionel Messi on five.
3.- Win back to back Champions League titles
Cristiano Ronaldo is anxious to make history and see Real Madrid being the first club to retain their Champions League title since the introduction of the new format in 1993.
The striker won his first Champions League with Manchester United when the Red Devils saw off Chelsea in a penalty shoot out in Moscow in 2008. Lisbon (2014) and Milan (2016) where the cities where Ronaldo won his two Champions League medals with Real Madrid, defeating on both occasions city rivals Atletico Madrid.
4.- Secure more LaLiga titles
Winning the domestic league has become the new obsession for both Ronaldo and Real Madrid. Just one league haul is a poor return for both club and striker with Barça lifting five league titles and Atleti claiming one LaLiga trophy since Cristiano's arrival at Real Madrid. The 2011/12 season with Mourinho in charge was the only LaLiga success for the Portuguese striker in Spain.
5.- Win the treble
Cristiano Ronaldo has won two doubles during his career. The first coming in 2008 at Old Trafford as United won the Premier League and Champions League. With Real Madrid Cristiano saw the side from the capital claim the 2014 Champions League along with the Copa del Rey trophy.
Securing LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Champions League trophies in one season is a major objective for the 31 year old player.
6.- More Golden Shoe awards
Cristiano already has four Golden Shoe awards on show in his Funchal museum with the last award being secured for the 48 goals scored in the 2014/15 league campaign.
