Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections sparked instant reaction among the country’s NBA stars, most of whom expressed their shock at the outcome and concern over the plans of the 45th American president, while others said the new commander in chief should be given time.
Some of the players that posted messages on social media joked about moving to Canada, whose immigration website crashed as the results started to roll in. Oklahoma City Thunder centre Enes Kanter send an open message asking if any European or Chinese teams needed a “6’ 11” PF/C?”
Mark Urban, a professed Republican who nevertheless supported Hillary Clinton, was one of those who called on the USA to give the president-elect "a chance." Atlanta Hawks player Kris Humphries simply posted: "Make America great again!"
