The official from Aragon has taken charge of 20 Barcelona games in his career, with the Azulgranas winning 17 and drawing three of those. Clos has also awarded four penalties in Barça’s favour and two against. He’s never sent a Barça player off but dished out two yellow cards.

Madrid: W18 D5 L4

In the 27 Real Madrid matches that Clos has looked after meanwhile, Los Blancos have won 18, drawn five and lost four. He’s shown them five yellows, no reds and awarded five penalties in their favour.

Clos' 1st LaLiga Clásico

The game on 3 December will be the referee’s first ever El Clásico in LaLiga, although he has officiated Real v Barça games in the past. The first came in Barça’s 3-2 win over Madrid in the Spanish SuperCup first leg in 2012 and the other in a Copa del Rey draw.

Otherwise, Clos may be remembered by Madrid fans for committing ten errors, according to then-manager José Mourinho, when Los Blancos played Sevilla at the Bernabéu in the 2010/11 season.
