Barcelona's Lionel Messi talks Champions League and LaLiga
Guillem Balague asked the questions to the Argentine at a recent publicity event and the player was quick to point out that Barça are not reliant on him.
Speaking during a promotional event, Lionel Messi answered questions put to him by AS' very own Guillem Balagué. He didn't talk about his much speculated future but did touch on what it's like playing for the "best team in the world".
On the Champions League:
"We got there a little late but we're happy to have qualified. We knew it was going to be diffilcult but we have achieved our objective of qualifying. We knew about the atmosphere [in Glasgow against Celtic], I'd already played and scored there and I'm happy with my two goals."
On the next Liga match against Real Sociedad:
"It will require a lot from us. They are playing very well again and are on the up, fighting for the European places. It's a difficult stadium for us. We have to leave with the three points.
On maturity:
"One keeps growing and getting through the years. You learn from the difficult moments. It's not all about winning or losing. I love to win and I want to achieve all the objectives. If I don't, at least having tried is very important."
On Messidependence:
"It's not like that. I don't think that the best team in the world depends on a single player, I don't think so."
On a change of image:
"There is a bit of everything and a desire to start from scratch. After the Copa America, which we lost on penalties, it was a way I wanted to change everything."
