Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has refused to be drawn into giving his opinion on the tax allegations surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Real Madrid player is accused of being involved in a multi-million-euro system of 'tax evasion' by a number of media outlets, something which the player’s representatives have denied.

“I try not to think about things I do not know"

In an interview with regional Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia, the Prime Minister was asked to give his view on the reports, but dodged the question by saying: “I try not to think about things I do not know".

However, Rajoy – who is a Real Madrid fan – did suggest that the government would be investigating the matter if necessary, as was also stated by the Spanish secretary of state for the treasury on the weekend.

“Let the tax authority deal with it,” said the People’s Party leader, who began a second term as PM in October after winning a confidence vote following a 10-month period with no Spanish government.
