Depor's Florin Andone is more effective than Cristiano and Messi

The Romanian striker found the net for the fourth consecutive game in LaLiga, with a brace against Real Sociedad. Last season he hit 21 goals for Córdoba. Sporting vs Barcelona

Andone arrives

It's taken a while - 10 games, but at last, Florin Andone is looking like the striker which everyone at Deportivo has been longing to see. A natural-born fighter, the Romanian is now getting into his stride having found the net in all of the team's last four games. On Monday night he scored two and set up another, and probably even felt a little unlucky not to have grabbed a couple more in the 5-1 thrashing of Real Sociedad at Riazor.

Andone opened his account for the season against Granada in Los Cármenes in Week 11, then was on target a fortnight later against Sevilla and again at La Rosaleda in the 4-3 defeat to Málaga. He is now the team's top scorer ahead of Celso Borges on 4 goals and Ryan Babel on three.

More effective than Cristiano and Messi

The 23-year-old has 32 shots on target so far this season - the fourth best registry in LaLiga behind Cristiano Ronaldo (57), Messi (37) and Bale (35); but in terms of effectiveness, he is more precise with a 62.5% success rate compared to Cristiano Ronaldo's 47.4% and Messi's 56.8%. Averaging two shots per game, Andone is looking keen to replicate his figures from last season when he hit 21 goals for Córdoba - just one away from ending as the top scorer in the division - the prize going to Elche's Sergio León on 22.

Club record in sight

At this rate, Andone could soon be looking at the club record of scoring in seven consecutive games, jointly held by Lucas Pérez and Bebeto. Depor's next league game is against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday night and the No.10 will be looking to keep his running going.
