Pilar Rubio, the mother of James Rodriguez, wanted to send a clear message regarding her son's future and spoke with Colombian newscast Noticias Uno. "He is not going to give up," she declared.
James' future seems clear
This statement comes just days after the Real Madrid number 10 made his second consecutive starting appearance for Zinedine Zidane - playing 90 minutes against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and another full shift against Deportivo in LaLiga. Ahead of the Depor game - one that Madrid clinched in added on time - Zidane came out to say: "James isn’t going to leave in January, for certain, I don’t want him to leave."
And the player's mother followed this up: "I believe it's a decision for them to take together," referring to her son and the coach. "If the manager says this then it will be. These things I leave to him."
Fulfilling a dream
Rumours have surrounded the Colombian midfielder with suggestions rife in France that he's being lined up for a big money move to Ligue 1 champions, PSG. But Señora Rubio responded, "What I know is that he is playing for the club of his dreams, which is what he always wanted, and James is not going to give up."
