Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that captain Sergio Ramos will start Sunday’s Club World Cup final against Kashima Antlers after recovering from fatigue.
"I hope he can play the whole game"
Ramos missed Wednesday’s semifinal win over Club America, but will lead out the side in Yokohama as Madrid go in search of their second Club World Cup trophy in three seasons.
“He will play,” assured Zidane at his press conference on Saturday. “He’s better, he’s perfect and he’ll be with us in the final. I hope he can play the whole game.”
Pepe ruled out
Real Madrid will be without Pepe, however, with the Portuguese centre back failing to shake off a problem. Raphael Varane will lineup with Ramos in Los Blancos' back four in his place.
