Real Madrid Castilla right-back Achraf Hakimi has been named the Most Promising Moroccan Player of 2016. The award is recognition of the great progress the 18-year-old defender has been making in the reserves - something which hasn't escaped the attention of Zidane, who included him in the first team squad list for last summer's pre-season and gave him a run-out in the friendly meeting against PSG, coming on as a second half sub for Nacho.

Full international debut

Achraf is considered to be one of the most promising members of Madrid's reserve team and that was recently confirmed in his home country where, on: 11 October he made his international debut for Morocco in a friendly against Canada in Marrakech.

Off the mark

The teenage full-back is a key member of Santiago Solari's Castilla side, despite still being technically at an age where he would normally be playing for the Under-18s. This season he has clocked 1,088 minutes' playing time over 13 games. He has some of the best figures in terms of assists (four) and opened his account against Fuenlabrada in Week 6).
