Marco Silva takes the reins at stricken Hull
Premier League basement side Hull City have brought in Marco Silva as manager for the rest of the season.
Big task
Premier League side Hull City have hired Marco Silva as manager for the rest of the season.
The 39-year-old Portuguese coach, who guided Olympiacos to the Greek Superleague title last season before resigning, take over the reins from Mike Phelan, who was dismissed on Tuesday.
Cup clash
Silva's first match in charge of Hull, who lie bottom of the table, will be Saturday's FA Cup Third Round tie with Swansea City.
Hull vice-chairman Ehab Allam said in a club statement: “Marco is a young coach who has impressed us with his philosophy and football style. He has a great track record and we feel this is a bold and exciting appointment in our aim to retain the club's Premier League status”.
