The draw took place last Friday for the quarter final stage of the 2016/17 Spanish cup and despite not throwing up any regional derbies of an eagerly awaited El Clasico there are some intriguing ties ahead this week as the competition reaches the business end.

FA Cup third round replays

The third round of the competition produced nine draws that will see replays staged to determine which sides progress the fourth round of the planets' oldest knock-out competition.  Big Premier League guns such as Liverpool, Southampton and Crystal Palace will all be hoping to avoid slip-ups as they face lower ranking sides.

Africa Cup of Nations 2017

There is no let-up in the action from Gabon as the week ahead sees Group's C and D commence along with second group matches in  Groups A and B. The tournament has already sprung a series of surprises with host nation Gabon being held to a 1-1 draw in the inaugural match with a late equaliser from Soares securing a point for Guinea Bissau.
