Absentee in San Sebastián
The joys of having a fully available squad didn't last long at Barcelona. This morning the club released a medical report to confirm that Rafinha will miss Thursday's Copa del Rey quarter final first leg against Real Sociedad after pulling his right hamstring. There was no other details in the report, which stated that the player's availability will depend on how he progresses over the next few days.
Latest setback
Rafinha has been dogged by a series of fitness problems since suffering a serious knee injury in September 2015. Hec was unable to take part in last summer's Copa América, only played sporadically at the Olympic Games and still suffers the odd niggle. On Saturday against Las Palmas, he put in a superb performance out wide on the left wing, giving the impression that he could retain his place in the side. It's a new setback and he could return for Sunday's league trip to Eibar, Rakitic or Iniesta are the options to play in the Cup tie at Anoeta.
