MÁLAGA
José Rodríguez arrives in Málaga
The Mainz midfielder arrived in the Andalucian city on Sunday night. He will undergo a medical this morning before signing a six-month loan deal.
Back in Spain
José Rodríguez arrived in Málaga late on Sunday night and is due to undergo a medical this morning before completing his loan move to the Andalucian club. The 22-year-old is set to remain at Málaga until the end of the season. The Spanish club have an option to buy Rodríguez outright from Mainz 05 at the end of the loan should they feel happy with him.
Fourth addition
Málaga have long held an interest in the player and attempted to sign him several seasons ago but the operation fell through. After signing Venezolan striker Adalberto Peñaranda and two centre-backs - Luis Hernández and Martín Demichelis el Málaga needed a midfielder. The first option was N'Diaye and while an agreement was reached with Villarreal the move never materialised. The alternative, José Rodríguez, came through the youth system at Real Madrid and jumped at the chance of returning home.
