Mundo Deportivo report that Dani Alves offered himself as a solution to Barcelona's right-back problem before he fractured his leg at the end of November but was politely turned down by the club. Having moved to Juventus on a free transfer in the summer, Alves struggled to adapt to Max Allegri's style of play and was willing to return to Barça.
Turned down
He was informed, however, that his time at the club was over and the club were not interested in his return. This might explain Alves' recent criticism of the club as he spent eight years there and won every trophy there was to win, on multiple occasions.
He returned to the fold at the start of February and got on the scoresheet on Wednesday night as Juve beat Porto in the Champions League last 16 first leg tie. Luis Enrique has a headache as Sergi Roberto is not seen as a permanent, whole-time solution to the right back situation after Aleix Vidal went down for the season with a serious ankle injury.
