After announcing that he will leaving Las Palmas at the end of the season, Quique Setién has been inundated with offers from Spanish clubs for the new campaign. And given the coach's predeliction for a vibrant, origibnal style of football, it's hardly surprising that one of the clubs who are keen on hiring him are Villarreal. Not that the Submarine's directors are unhappy with the work which current coach Fran Escribá is doing, but they are mulling over the possibility of making changes which the objective of stepping up another notch on the European stage and in LaLiga.
Villarreal open contact with Setién
Contact has been made between Villarreal and Setién, but as it stands, the Castellonenses' priority if to end the season in one of the two Europa League berths. But Setién is the man they will attempt to poach should they decided a change is required and Villarreal is an option which appeals to the coach for when he returns to the bench next term.
