Álex Sandro targeted by Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Chelsea will scrap for the signature of Juventus' Álex Sandro, according to A Bola, but the Brazilian left back will command a €45m fee
Álex Sandro, Juventus’ Brazilian left back, is on Real Madrid’s list of candidates to compete with Marcelo next season on the left side of defence.
Coentrao's absence has placed strain on Marcelo
Zinedine Zidane’s lack of faith in Fabio Coentrao has meant that Marcelo has not had the opportunity to rest. His replacement this campaign, Nacho, has been adequate when called upon. But he is not a natural left back.
Juventus are quoting a high price
Álex Sandro, who is 26 years old, has contributed two goals and five assists to the Juventus cause this season. According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, both Chelsea and Real Madrid are eager to secure his signature. Yet the Piedmontese club have apparently stated that Sandro will not leave for less than €45 million, and he would therefore represent a bigger financial outlay than the other candidates that Real Madrid have in mind.
