Quarrel between Theo and his agent moved Madrid deal forward
The player wasn't happy with the declarations made by his agent and after a heated telephone conversation, Quilón phoned Florentino to close the agreement.
Theo Hernández's signing for Real Madrid this morning came as a bolt from the blue for all involved. The player, as this newspaper recently reported, was 100 per cent certain that he wanted to join Zinedine Zidane's team but wanted to officially announce his decision after the Copa del Rey final later this month. However, Theo was infuriated after reading the declarations his agent Manuel García Quilón gave to Footmercato yesterday. “Theo has offers from Real Madrid and Barça, but he hasn't decided yet”. Immediately after Alavés' home game against Athletic, the full-back made his indignation known. He phoned Quilón to give the agent a piece of his mind and accused him of using him as a pawn for his own benefits and not respecting his wish to sign for Real Madrid.
Theo's agent calls Florentino to bring forward Real Madrid move
Believing that he might lose the operation Quilón called Florentino Pérez to agree to close the deal today, Monday, and finalize the terms of the arrangement and sign the relevant documents. Theo told those in his inner circle that he would be in Madrid on Monday to pass a medical at the Sanitas-La Moraleja Clinic - who have an partnership agreement with Real Madrid. Today, Theo even received congratulations from friends for his move to Madrid.
