Varane back training and is available for Atlético game

Raphaël Varane is available for selection for Real Madrid as they attempt to preserve their lead in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final decider against Atlético. The French centre-back was left out of the squad list for the weekend league game against Granada. But this morning he took the practice pitches in Valdebebas with the rest of the squad and should line up alongside Sergio Ramos in the Madrid back four at the Calderón.
Bale and Carvajal doubtful for Wednesday's semi-final
Zinedine Zidane and his coaching staff have started preparing for Wednesday's return leg with Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale the only absentees in Monday's session - for the right-back, the season is practically over. The players were given Sunday off to rest but were back in Valdebebas today for a 90 minute session which was centred around ball possession drills, circulation and pressing on a reduced pitch.
Real Madrid decide not to train at the Calderón
Zidane will not inspect the Vicente Calderón pitch until the team takes to the field on Wednesday evening for the pre-match warm-up. Real Madrid will not train at Atlético's stadium, preferring instead to train at their own facilities before Zidane, together with a player, face the media at 13:00 hours.
