Mattheus: Bebeto celebration son signed by Sporting CP
Mattheus Oliveira, whose birth inspired THAT celebration at the 1994 World Cup, is to join the Lisbon club ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Sporting CP have confirmed the summer signing of Estoril's Brazilian attacking midfielder Mattheus Oliveira, who is the son of World Cup-winning striker Bebeto.
The 18-time Portuguese champions revealed on Monday that Mattheus is to strengthen their squad for the 2017/18 season, signing a five-year deal.
A 60-million-euro release clause has been inserted in his contract.
Inspiration for memorable Bebeto celebration
It was Mattheus' birth that inspired Bebeto's legendary 'rocking cradle' celebration during Brazil's 3-2 quarter-final victory over the Netherlands at USA '94.
Now 22, the Flamengo youth product has impressed at Estoril since joining the Primeira Liga side in 2015, initially on loan before making the move permanent.
The Brazil Under-20 cap has scored six goals in 60 appearances for Estoril, who are 13th in the Portuguese top flight with one match remaining this term.
