Mourinho confirms that David de Gea will not play for Manchester United again this season

The absence of David de Gea from Manchester United's most recent games has been drawing attention and Jose Mourinho moved to explain what his plans for the Spaniard are for the remainder of the year. He will not play either Of United's two remaining games against Crystal Palace next Sunday or against Ajax in the final of the Europa League next Wednesday in Stockholm.
However, the Portuguese confirmed that De Gea would continue next season at the club. "Of course, we want to see David return to the United jersey. I think the next time he plays will be against Los Angeles Galaxy during the preseason tour. Joel will play against Crystal Palace and Sergio will play in the final. David is the the best in the world and obviously we want him to continue with us," assured Mourinho.
De Gea was not called for United's game on Wednesday against Southampton in the Premier League, a substitution that reportedly surprised him. United are guaranteed to finish sixth in the Premier League and their only option into the Champions League is to win the final of the Europa League.
