Update:
Real Madrid win LaLiga 2016/17
JESUS ALVAREZ ORIHUELADIARIO AS

Real Madrid have won LaLiga 2016/2017, beating Málaga 0-2 at the Rosaleda, meaning the title was theirs no matter what Barcelona did. Barça were losing 2-0 to Eibar at one point, but managed to turn the match around to run out 4-2 winners, meaning Real Madrid took their 33rd title by three points, as most expected.

Real Madrid in front through Ronaldo in under two minutes

Real Madrid had said they were going for a win, despite only needing a draw to claim the title, and were in front right from the start, with Ronaldo taking advantage of a dire mix-up in the Málaga defence with less than two minutes gone, to round the keeper and slot home. That meant Real Madrid scored in every LaLiga fixture this season, for the first time ever.

With news coming in from Barcelona that Eibar had taken a shock lead against Barcelona at the Camp Nou, Real Madrid and their fans were able to relax somewhat and start thinking about the celebrations.

Benzema scores Real Madrid's second

Benzema added a second after 55 minutes to seal Madrid's first title in five years, José Mourinho being the man in charge of the Spanish giants back in 2011-12. Since then Barcelona have won the title in 2012-13, 2014-15 and last year, 2015-16. Atlético picked up the 2013-14 crown.

Barcelona come back from 2-0 down

Barcelona were stunned by two exquisite strikes from Eibar's Inui in their match at the Camp Nou, but managed to turn the game around to ensure Luis Enrique recorded a win in his last LaLiga match in charge at Barça. A Juncà own goal, a Suárez tap in from close range, a Messi penalty (after he'd had one saved by Yoel previously) and another Messi strike saw Barça end the Liga season with a win, but they knew the title was Madrid bound by that point.
