Jovetic: Sevilla face competition from Marseille
Sevilla will face competition to sign Inter striker Stevan Jovetic, with Olympique Marseille keen on the Montenegro internation as they mount Ligue 1 bid.
Stevan Jovetic’s future at Sevilla is, along with the appointment of a new manager, one of the most discussed topics in Andalusia.
Jovetic impresses at Sevilla
The Montenegro international has impressed during the course of his loan spell from Inter, and both the club and fans hope that he will remain available for Jorge Sampaoli’s successor next season.
At this stage, it looks likely that Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo will take over at the Pizjuán, while Sampaoli looks set to take over as the manager of the Argentine national team.
Marseille want Montenegro striker
However, the competition for his signature is strong. The Italian newspaper ‘El Corriere dello Sport’ has announced that Inter are expecting an offer from Olympique Marseille, who are keen to mount a challenge for the Ligue 1 title next season.
Sevilla have the option to buy Jovetic for €14 million, but he would command a handsome wage. As such, both club president José Castro and sporting director Óscar Arias have announced their intention to sign the player, but have warned that it will not be easy.
