The ex-Real Madrid and Milan player has offered his services to Santos as manager, according to local media. He retired in Brazil with Botafogo in 2014.
Clarence Seedorf has offered his managerial services to Santos, according to various reports in the Brazilian media.
Santos recently sacked Dorival Júnior
The former Real Madrid and Milan midfielder is married to a Brazilian, and retired as a player with Botafogo in 2014 before returning to Italy to coach the Rossoneri.
According to the local press, Seedorf would represent an appealing option for the club that nurtured Neymar and Robinho. The club dispensed of the services of Dorival Júnior on Sunday, after a disappointing start to the season.
Santos were knocked out of the Campeonato Paulista at the quarter-final stage by modest opposition, Ponte Preta, and have lost three of their last four matches in the league.
Seedorf yet to prove himself as a coach
Seedorf’s spell at San Siro was brief and fruitless. The Dutchman presided over 11 victories, nine defeats, and two draws in his 22 matches in the dugout.
He has since had a spell with Shenzhen FC in the Chinese second division, where he stayed for less than half a season.
As such, Seedorf is yet to forge his reputation as a manager, and Brazil could be the place to do it.
