Deportivo eager to bring Víctor Valdés back to LaLiga
According to La Voz de Galicia, the Riazor board are interested in signing the former Spain keeper, whose contract at Middlesbrough has expired.
Deportivo are looking for a new goalkeeper and have set their sights on one who has ample experience of LaLiga: according to regional broadsheet La Voz de Galicia, the Riazor board are going to try and lure Víctor Valdés back to Spain.
Former Barça keeper Valdés a free agent
Depor have made contact with the former Barcelona keeper, whose contract has expired at Middlesbrough. Valdés spent the 2016-17 season at the Riverside Stadium and made 28 appearances as the club was relegated to the Championship. The 35-year-old has reportedly turned down an offer from Málaga and has put talks with Depor on hold due to his wedding last weekend.
Soria, Sirigu and Roef also on Depor's list
The Liga side need a replacement for Germán Lux, who is out of contract at Riazor at the end of June and will not be offered an extension. Other names in the frame for the number one shirt at Depor are David Soria (Sevilla), Salvatore Sirigu, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla and Osasuna and Davy Roef, the Anderlecht and Belgium under-21 keeper who spent the second half of last season on loan at Depor. However, Roef has shown little indication that he wishes to extend that arrangement.
