Back to the office

Barcelona's official website announced on Saturday the return of its first-team squad after the summer break. New coach Valverde will get to work with his players on 12 July, or at least those with no international matches to play. The players representing their countries will be given a few extra days of rest and will report for duty on 14 July. Despite this being a summer of change, the beginning of the transfer window has been a quiet affair at the Catalan club.

The US tour

The Barça squad will train together before they embark on a 10-day US tour, making their way to New York, on 19 July, before playing their first game against Juventus on 22 July in New Jersey. The tour will then continue with a game against Manchester United, in Washington on 26 July, and the summer's first El Clásico, against Real Madrid in Miami on the 29th.

This summer's commitments

Denis Suárez, who will play for Spain's Under-21s in the European Championships, and André Gomes and Ter Stegen, who will represent Portugal and Germany, respectively, in the Confederations Cup, will join the rest of the squad after the tour in America.
