Luis Martínez, the older brother of Atlético Madrid forward Ángel Correa, died early on Sunday morning from wounds suffered after falling from a motorway bridge on the outskirts of Rosario.

Luis Martínez died on Sunday morning

Sebastián Carranza, the press officer for the Rosario public prosecutor, confirmed on Tuesday that the 25-year-old Martínez died in hospital at 02:00 on Sunday with his family at his side.

He fell from a bridge that crosses the motorway linking Rosario and Buenos Aires, in the Rosario neighbourhood of Las Flores.

25 year old suffered from depression

“In principle it was a suicide, and the cause of death would have been the fall from the bridge,” Carranza told Argentine news agency Télam.

He continued, “we have information that he was suffering from a bout of depression, but we have not confirmed that he was admitted to hospital.”
