AS Monaco target Stoke's Julien Ngoy as Mbappé replacement

According to ESPN the Ligue 1 side are making contingency plans in the case of a Mbappe departure and have targeted Julien Ngoy.

Ongoing developments at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco continue to point to an exit for French striker Kylian Mbappe with the 18 year making a move to LaLiga and Real Madrid edging closer, During an interview with esRadio this week, Madrid president Florentino Pérez alluded to a Mbappe incorporation during the summer and first team coach Zinedine Zidane has been in touch on a number of occasions with the French player's family.

Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has stated numerously that the best thing for the young player's development would be to remain at the French side and continue to grow as a player. The 2016/17 season has seen the Paris born forward explode onto the global footballing world bagging 15 goals in his 29 Ligue 1 games. Though it's been his dazzling performances in last year's Champions League that have seen him making the headlines and waking interest from the giants of European football to a point where a price tag of €100 million (plus) has been linked to his signature.

Monaco's contingency plan 

Given the direction that current negotiations have taken, the French club, realising that they may not be able to count on Mbappe next season have started to look for a replacement to fill the gap that a potential departure would cause. according to American based outlet ESPN, that player is Belgian born striker Julien Ngoy.

Julien Ngoy

Born in Antwerp in 1997, the player has been often compared to Mbappé due to his blistering pace and direct style of play. He made his Premier League debut with Stoke City last season making a total of five league appearances. for "The Potters".

Ngoy has also represented Belgium in youth categories and made his debut earlier this year for the U-21 side. The 19 year old has also generated interest from other clubs with Manchester United and various Bundesliga sides monitoring his progression.
