AS Roma were close to securing the services of Nacho Fernández last summer with the move breaking down in the eleventh hour and are back in the hunt for the Madrid born defender.
In the end it was Real Madrid first team coach Zinedine Zidane who put the brakes on the move progressing and the 2016/17 campaign indeed has been glittering for the defender playing 39 games and finding the target on three occasions. Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport today however report that new sporting director of the Serie A side Monchi has renewed the club's interest in the player.
The former Sevilla sporting director is close to securing Juan Marcos Foyth, currently with Argentine side Estudiantes and is tipped for great things by experts in the south American country. The plan is for Nacho to join up with him in the defensive formation of the 2017/18 version of AS Roma which is currently taking shape.
