Maradona: "Sampaoli is a traitor and Trump like a cartoon character"
The legendary Argentina No. 10 congratulated Messia and Antonella following Friday's Rosario wedding reception.
Diego Armando Maradona publicly congratulated Leo Messi for his wedding with Antonella Rocuzzo on Friday, despite not receiving an invitation for the Rosario based event and went on to state that the Barcelona striker is an "excellent person".
"My congratulations to the couple and may they have more a happy and healthy children. He knows I love him lots and I assume my invitation must have been mislaid in the post" joked the former player speaking to Russian media.
Maradona arrived yesterday in Russia ahead of the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup final and was also asked about his opinion on new Argentina national team coach Jorge Sampaoli.
'Traitor' Sampaoli
"I deem Jorge Sampaoli to be a traitor and I don't talk about traitors", was the reply from the 56 year old. He went on to state that Russian president Vladímir Putin is one of his current idols though he has yet to meet the politician.
"He's a hero. On my wall at home, I have two framed portraits, one of Fidel Castro the other of Vladímir Putin".
He concluded with a question being directed about his thoughts on US president Donald Trump and the former player claimed that Trump reminded him of a cartoon character.
