Xavi against resigning Barca youth players who want to leave

The former Barcelona captain does not understand why players want to leave and thinks once they pack their bags, they are finished with the club.

Former Barcelona captain, Xavi Hernandez, says he would not re-sign a La Masia product if they wanted to leave and admits it is a strong position to take but one that is necessary to protect the philosophy of Barcelona Football Club.

That would mean Barca would not have resigned Cesc Fabregas or Gerard Pique and Xavi says, "I would never sign a player who has left Barca," when asked by Sport if he would sign Hector Bellerin from Arsenal.

"I haven't seen him play too much, but I will say one thing: it would be difficult for me to sign a player we already had. I would not like to participate in resigning players that left. At 16 or 17, why did they leave? I see it as baffling and I don't understand it. It suprises me greatly what they have done like Mboula and Eric García. I would not bring them back in the future. That's my philosophy: you were here, you wanted to leave and now you don't return," he stressed.

Xavi not slow to reveal Barcelona ambitions

In another interview with Mundo Deportivo this time, Xabi says his objective is to work with Barcelona in the future, "It is the objective and I don't hide it. I have a lot of hope that I can work for Barcelona. I don't know about working in the dugout but I see myself more on the bench than in the office and that's clear. To train Barcelona is a dream, but for that you have to be very prepared and it demands a lot of you," he continued.

Xavi also said that Ernesto Valverde will be a great success and with the help of Jose Antonio Pozanco, the physical trainer, "who worked with us and knows the place very well." He says that with Valverde, "Barca is 100% correct."

Gefore signing off, Xavi says he would sign Veratti as he is "one of the top three in his position in the world" and that if it was his decision, he would go for it 200%.
