Update:
Atlético Madrid first game at Wanda Metropolitano vs Málaga

Atlético Madrid's first LaLiga game at their new Estadio Wanda Metropolitano will be against Málaga on Matchday 4.

Atlético Madrid's new Wanda land

The fixtures for LaLiga 2017/18 were decided on Friday 21 July by the Spanish Football Federation. One of the most interesting games being watched for by many was the date that Atlético Madrid would play their first official league game at the new Wanda Metropolitano stadium. Now we are fairly sure of who that will be and when.

Málaga will be first official league game

As part of the schedule draw, the teams that finished last season in the top 10 places were positioned so as not to meet each other. The other sides were then chosen to be matched up. LaLiga have already confirmed that Atlético will play their first two games (Girona and Las Palmas) away from home and they have also been drawn away from home in Week 3 against Valencia. This means that, if no delays with the completion of the stadium, Atlético will host Málaga in their first official game at the Wanda Metropolitano in week four, the weekend of 17 September 2017.

Historic first Madrid derby at the Wanda stadium

Another key date for los rojiblancos is the weekend of 19 November 2017 when they will welcome local rivals Real Madrid to the Wanda stadium. You can check out all the fixtures here.
