Fenerbahçe are attempting to sign Villarreal striker Roberto Soldado, with some reports in Turkey suggesting the former Spurs, Valencia and Getafe striker has a pre-contract agreement with the Süper Lig side.

Other Turkish clubs have also expressed an interest in Soldado, with Besiktas and Trabzonspor making inquiries about his availability this summer, although the former has now signed Soldado’s compatriot Álvaro Negredo

Representatives of Fenerbahçe were reportedly travelling to Spain on Tuesday to hammer out a deal with the Yellow Submarine for the striker, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 10 Liga outings last season after returning to action following a cruciate ligament injury.

Sources close to Fenerbahçe stated that the Istanbul-based giants are increasingly confident of securing Soldado’s signature if Villarreal agree to sell and the player sorts out personal terms.
