L'Equipe: Mbappé set to sign for PSG on loan to avoid FFP penalty
Acording to the French newspaper, Mbappé to PSG will be made official tonight but it will be a loan move for the season with an option to buy next summer.
PSG and Monaco have reportedly found the formula to transfer Kylian Mbappé and avoid the Financial Fair Play penalties that the club from the French capital were so worried about incurring during their summer transfer spending spree. The French striker will sign on loan for the Parisien club, with an option to buy next summer according to L'Equipe.
The French newspaper says that both clubs have agreed to the deal and it will be done at some stage on sunday evening. The Guardian reported on Sunday that an agreement was close but that the one thing PSG were trying to avoid was a possible FFP penalty after they signed Neymar from Barcelona for a world record €220 million earlier in the transfer window. A loan would make the move viable.
The option to buy (in the region of €155 million) would not necessarily be obligatory. If the move was obligatory, UEFA would be able to block the transfer as it would obviously be a way of side-stepping the laws brought in to curb such heavy spending. PSG want to include Lucas Moura in the deal in order to cut the cost of the total deal in the future.
If Monaco wanted to add Moura to their squad, it would mean selling Fabinho in order to comply with the number of foreign players in a squad. They have many offers currently on the table for the Brazilian including PSG, who want to take advantage of Monaco's need to possible sell.
