The Spain coach experimented different formations but finally favoured the system Del Bosque used against Italy in the final of the 2012 Euros, which Spain won 4-0.

Spain trained for the third time since the players joined up this week at the Las Rozas training complex as they prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Italy on Saturday, to be played in the Santiago Bernabéu (20:45 CET). Lopetegui worked with different formations in an hour-long eleven-v-eleven - one of which included Marco Asensio leading the attack with Koke, Busquets, Iniesta, Isco and Silva behind.

In the first half, the two line-ups comprised Reina; Carvajal, Bartra, Nacho, Alba; Thiago, Saúl, Iniesta; Silva, Morata and Pedro, on one side, and De Gea; Azpilicueta, Piqué, Ramos, Monreal; Koke, Busquets, Isco; Deulofeu, Villa and Asensio, on the other. The only goal of the half was scored by Koke. 

The second half saw Kepa, Lucas Vázquez, Suso and Aspas join in as De Gea; Azpilicueta, Piqué, Ramos, Monreal; Saúl, Busquets, Iniesta; Silva, Villa and Isco went up against Kepa; Carvajal, Piqué, Bartra, Jordi Alba; Thiago, Koke, Suso; Aspas, Morata and Lucas.
