Despite PSG outlay, Madrid have football's most valuable squad
According to specialised portal Transfermarkt, Zinedine Zidane currently possesses the most expensive squad in global football.
Despite dominating the headlines in the summer's transfer market with the acquisitions of Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe, Unai Emery doesn't oversee the most expensive team in the European game. According to player value portal Transfermarkt seven clubs top the French giants in the overall ranking.
Real Madrid top the list
Despite the exits from the Bernabeu over the summer with Morata, James, Danilo, Mariano, Coentrao and Pepe departing along with the arrivals of Theo and Dani Ceballos, coupled with loanee returns: Vallejo, Llorente and Mayoral, the Real Madrid squad have an overall value 743,8 million euro.
Premier League prolific, PSG 8th
Even with the big summer moves, the surprising statistic is that of Ligue 1 giants PSG in eighth position. The squad of the Parisian outfit has a value of 521.15 million euro and falls someway behind the squad values of Barça (706.5), Chelsea (614.4), Manchester City (588.75), Bayern (581.4), Man. United (567.75) and Juventus (538.6). Atlético Madrid (511) and North London based side Tottenham (505.25) complete the top 10.
