Josep Bartomeu spoke again about contract renewals for Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta as the noise surrounding the club seems to have subsided with a good start to the league under Ernest Valverde, helped on by Real Madrid's two draws after three games.
The president of Barcelona said previously that Messi just needed to sign where his Father had already done so and has gone one further in stating, "Leo's commitment to Barça is total. His father has signed the renewal and, therefore, the only thing left to do is to take the photograph."
Messi was reportedly hesitant over where the club was going and Andres Iniesta was another who rejected Bartomeu's claims that the negotiation over a renewal were almost complete. Baromeu says of Iniesta, "Andrés is special for us and for all young players. He is an example as a person and as a player. We are negotiating with his agent with the intention of giving him an indefinite contract and letting him choose how long he wants to be at the Club."
