REAL MADRID

Bale has missed almost half the minutes since he joined Real Madrid

Since arriving from the Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013, Bale has played in just 57% of minutes and could miss more time with his most recent calf strain.

Update:
Bale has missed almost half the minutes since he joined Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane explained that Gareth Bale was suffering from a calf strain but it was nothing serious as Real Madrid prepare to play against Espanyol in LaLiga on Sunday night. The Welsh attacker did not train with the squad in their last session before the game and is a doubt. He will travel with Wales to play their next two games in World Cup qualifying.

Bale, who signed with Real Madrid in 2013 has missed 9,346 minutes since he arrived at the club. That is a total of 43% of the total minutes of games with the club since his arrival. The 28-year-old has suffered 18 injuris during his time in white.

Despite Real Madrid's relatively rocky start, Bale has started the season in good form, scoring against Real Sociedad recently and also against Borussia Dortmund. He has been involved in 72.62% of the total minutes played this season but if this injury is not dealt with properly, it could mean he misses more time.

Bale had been whistled at the Bernabeu for his lack of form but he was slowly but surely silencing the critics with his recent form. Both he and his manager will be hoping the latest injury is a short one and he gets back on the field and back in form sooner rather than later.
