Cristiano Ronaldo opened his goal scoring account in LaLiga against Getafe on Saturday afternoon. He had already enjoyed a productive start to the new season, scoring five goals in seven games but was still to get off the mark in LaLiga. He had missed miss the first four league games through suspension as a result of his sending off in the Spanish Supercup but since his return hadn't found the net.
That all changed with 85 minutes gone of the match against Getafe. A neat ball over the top from Isco allowed Ronaldo to get in behind the defence and pop the ball in the far corner to make it 1--2 for Real Madrid.
Cristiano had played almost 300 minutes without scoring in LaLiga
Cristiano had played three full games - against Betis, Alavés and Espanyol with no luck in front of goal. Not for lacking of trying - he had had 23 shots on goal in LaLiga, but only four of those had been on target.
With his 85 minutes without scoring this afternoon this was now his worst run without scoring. In 2010 he went 298 minutes without finding the net. and when the clock on the scoreboard this afternoon hit 28 minutes it was officially his worst start to any league campaign with Madrid. He won't be complaining too much though, having put an end to the run right at the end of the match.
He is faring well in other competitions. In the Champions League he is on four goals from two games (averaging one every 45 minutes) and he did score in the Spanish Supercup even though he only played 24 minutes of the match.

This season, if he can remain injury-free, he could overtake the next two players in the list: Benito (420 games) and Zoco (434).
