Gareth Bale returned to training with his Real Madrid teammates on Friday as the Wales international continues his recovery from a calf problem that has had him on the sidelines since the Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on September 26.

Zinedine Zidane’s squad went through their paces ahead of Sunday’s game against Eibar with Castilla players Manu Hernando, Óscar and Álvaro Tejero included in the session along with under-19 keeper Moha, who was on the bench for the match against Getafe last weekend.

Bale was given specific running work as he seeks to recover fitness but the Wales forward is not expected to play any part against Eibar. Mateo Kovacic and Dani Carvajal remained absent as they continue their recoveries from a knee injury and a heart condition, respectively.

Keylor Navas also missed the session after a recurrence of the groin injury that ruled him out against Getafe. Kiko Casilla is expected to deputise for the Costa Rica international on Sunday with Luca Zidane potentially on the bench after the Real boss’ goalkeeper son, this season’s third choice stopper, also trained at Valdebebas after a recent injury setback.
