Sevilla-Liverpool: Simon Kjaer out of Berizzo's squad with injury
The influential Denmark international defender has a muscle problem and could be replaced by Johannes Geis against Jürgen Klopp's side.
Sevilla coach Eduardo Berizzo has received a blow before his side take to the turf at the Sánchez Pizjuán to play group leaders Liverpool when Denmark international defender Simon Kjaer suffered a muscle problem in training. The centre half returned from the World Cup playoff success over Ireland with niggle and although he came on as a substitute against Celta the 28-year-old was unable to train on Monday and Tuesday and has been left out of the match day squad.
Ángel Correa and Gabriel Mercado have returned to the squad after injury and the latter may be drafted into a reshuffled back four, although it remains to be seen whether he is deployed in the middle or at full back. If the Argentinean replaces Kjaer directly, Sébastian Corchia will fill in at right back but if Berizzo elects to play Mercado at full back, on-loan Schalke defender Johannes Geis will continue in the heart of defence.
Sevilla squad for Liverpool
