Málaga's Juankar out for the season with ACL injury
Tests have confirmed that the left-back has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Recio will undergo a scan later today.
More injury concerns for Málaga. At the Santiago Bernábeu on Saturday, full-back Juankar became the latest name to be added to the casualty list after he suffered a collision with Real Madrid's Lucas Vázquez. The defender ended up leaving the field on a stretcher.
The first examination of Juankar's knee revealed damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and the worst new was confirmed after fresh tests this morning - he will miss the rest of the season. Apart from the ACL tear, Juankar also has suffered a sprin to the lateral internal ligament. Doctors will wait until inflammation in Juankar's knee subsides before booking him into the operating threatre - he will likely undergo surgery within the next few days.
Recio to undergo a scan
Juankar wasn't the only victim in the Real Madrid game. Midfielder Recio ended the game but with pains to his left hamstring. He will undergo a scan later today to determine whether he has a tear or just a sprain. He is ruled out for tomorrow's Copa del Rey return leg against Numancia and remains doubtful for Friday's league visit from Levante.
