Inter: "Real Madrid have not been in touch regarding Icardi"
The sporting director of the Serie A side refutes claims that Real Madrid have enquired about the striker and maintains he will stay with Inter.
Inter Milan state that Mauro Icardi is not for sale and sporting director Piero Ausilio stated that there has been no contact from Real Madrid enquiring about the Argentine striker: "Real Madrid? They haven't called”, he added in declarations relayed by local sports outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Despite his claim of no contact, he didn't rule-out future interest from the LaLiga side adding: "It's totally understandable that Madrid would be interested in Mauro, but he has work ahead here being a key figure in our side".
Future in Serie A?
Ausilio is convinced that Icardi is highly motivated to win titles in the black and blue Inter shirt: "He has a ling term contract here and as captain his ambition is to won honours at Inter. That is more important than contracts and sub-clauses".
Some days ago Icardi spoke to Sky Sports Italia about a possible departure: "If a call came through from Madrid, I wouldn't take the call. You know how I feel and there is nothing to add". Inter boss Luciano Spalletti recently stated on Rai Sport: "I see him day-in-day-out and he's in love with this club and his squad mates. He enjoys life in the city and now has a good relationship with the fans. He wants to sign another deal with Inter and remain here. If people ask him about his future at the club, he claims that he wants to see out his career here".
