The Gremio defender raked his studs down the back of Cristiano Ronaldo's leg right at the start of the Club World Cup. No yellow was shown however.
Cristiano Ronaldo was left writhing in pain right at the start of the Club World Cup final against Gremio, when in the second minute defender Geromel raked his studs down the Real Madrid players leg.

Ronaldo complained bitterly to the referee about the challenge, and showed him the marks left by Geromel's studs, but the referee was having none of it and only gave a foul, letting the Brazilian off with what looked to be a clear yellow.
