REAL MADRID - BARCELONA

Rivaldo on Cristiano: "If I'd won 5 Ballon d'Ors, I'd say I was the best player in history too"

The Brazilian joined Pedja Mijatovic to chat about El Clásico on Wednesday's night's El Larguero show. Rivaldo says Neymar will never join Real Madrid.

Rivaldo and Pedja Mijatovic were special guests on Cadena SER programme El Larguero last night to look ahead to Saturday's Clásico at the Bernabéu. The Brazilian spoke about Cristiano's comments on being the best player in history as well as Neymar's chances of signing for Real Madrid in the future. Meanwhile, ex-madridista Mijatovic warned that Zidane's team urgently need to reduce Barcelona's advantage in the table.

Cristiano's comments: "If I had won five Ballon d'Ors, I would say I was the best player in history too".

Keeping calm at the Bernabéu: "Barça have to take things calmly out on the pitch because they have a decent advantage over Madrid in the table".

Neymar at Real Madrid: "Right now I cannot imagine seeing Neymar in a Real Madrid kit. He has to make history, PSG is his team now and we'll see what happens later on in his career. I don't think Neymar will ever play for Real Madrid".

El Clásico is tamer now: "Years ago it was much tougher, those games were real battles with players like [Fernando] Hierro, Redondo... they were very difficult matches. It's tamer now, there less fighting than there used to be".

Keeping mistakes to a minimum: "Any mistake Madrid make could be costly and they have to go out to win the game. Barça always like to attack and they'll do that more if Madrid take the lead, I'll be delighted if that happens".

Barça's 11-point lead over Madrid: "Regardless of what level of form either team is in, I don't think there is ever a favourite in El Clásico. Real Madrid are full of positive energy after winning the Club World Cup while Barça go into the game with a sizeable advantage in the table and knowing that if they put in a good game and win or draw, they'll maintain that advantage which will keep them on track to win the league".

Favourite Clásico: "I have great memories of the Clásico which we won 2-0; Suker and me got the goals - that was very special for me as I was going through a difficult time in my personal life because my son was in hospital and so playing was therapeutic for me as I didn't feel too happy. The coach (Fabio Capello) even asked me to think about whether I wanted to play the game or not, but for me it was an easy choice - how was I going to miss a game like that?"
