Sevilla consider Thomas Tuchel for coaching post
Laurent Blanc is another option but the favourite remains Spanish coach Javi Gracia. Sevilla want to have a new coach on board by 28 December.
Sevilla are busy looking for a replacement for Eduardo Berizzo who they sacked, to the surprise of many, on Friday. The search will continue over the festive period as the club wants to have a new coach on board for when the players return from their Christmas holidays on Thursday 28th. The Andalucians are keen to have the matter sorted so that the team can prepare for the Copa del Rey Last 16 first leg tie against Cádiz on 3 January and the first league game of the New Year - the Seville derby against Betis three days later.
Gracia, Blanc and Tuchel candidates for Sevilla post
Javi Gracia remains the favourite to take the post - mainly because the Spanish coach is the most willing to take on the position midway through the season and that gives him an advantage over the two other foreign candidates - Laurent Blanc and Thomas Tuchel.
Known for his no-holds-barred attacking style, Tuchel quit Borussia Dortmund in the summer after two notable campaigns during which his team won the DFB-Pokal. He has been available since June. In December 2015, when Sevilla bowed out of the Champions League and entered the Europa League, he surprisingly predicted that Sevilla would win the trophy "without a doubt". His forecast was spot on: the Spanish side won their fifth European trophy after beating a Liverpool side led by his compatriot, Jürgen Klopp.
