Zidane admits anger in dressing room following Celta draw
The Real Madrid manager was not willing to discuss the league standings but was able to explain the appearance of club president in the dressing room.
It was another disappointing game for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and the dejection was evident when he spoke to the media following a further slip in LaLiga, one that effectively ends any hopes of Los Blancos retaining their title.
A poor Madrid second half at Celta
The manager explained that the team were more than just a little unhappy with the way things went against Celta Vigo:
“As always we were talking amongst ourselves [in the dressing room]. We are all annoyed with the result," he said before highlighting the most disappointment was with the second half.
"It has happened to us again today," continued the Frenchman, "and we cannot be happy with the result. We did not play well for the full 90 minutes."
President visit to the Madrid dressing room
Club president Florentino Pérez made an appearance in the away dressing room but this was explained away simply by Zidane:
"He [Pérez] often comes to the dressing room to give his support to the team, nothing more."
With the second half taking the focus, Zidane tried to explain what had happened as Celta put more and more pressure on his side:
"We made a lot of mistakes and lost the ball many times too easily. We need to analyse in detail what happened, I am responsible for it. It was a difficult second half for us."
Challenging for LaLiga
When asked about the league situation the under-pressure coach batted the question away as best he could:
"We won't discuss the league every week. We dropped points, and if we drop points we can't catch Barça. We just need to win games, keep picking up points, nothing else. We need to find consistency in our game."
