Espanyol favourites after first-leg win - Barcelona boss Valverde
"Espanyol's fans drove them on today, and I hope ours do the same," said Ernesto Valverde after Barça's Copa del Rey quarter-final defeat.
Espanyol: "They approached the game well, sitting deep and waiting for us and closing the spaces down the middle. They defended well and got it right with their goal, as did Diego López with his penalty save. We have to turn it around."
Missed opportunities: "We had chances to score, but we didn't take them, and they did. We weren't clinical enough in goal-scoring situations."
Second-leg prospects: "The team that are ahead [going into the second leg] are the favourites. When we drew in Vigo, we were slight favourites. Now the result doesn't favour us. This is the cup, and we have to keep going right to the last."
Role of the Camp Nou support in the return: "It's the cup, and we hope they help us. Their [Espanyol's] fans drove them on today, and I hope ours do the same."
