Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid at the end of this season. And he wants to move to Manchester United. Madrid have decided they won't stop him leaving always provided the offer from the English club is high enough, and with one condition: Ronaldo will only be able to leave if Real Madrid sign Neymar.
Madrid would let Ronaldo leave
The situation is similar to that of the last summer, though on that occasion the other name in the pot was Mbappé. If the French striker had ended up agreeing to come to the Bernabéu, Madrid would have opened the door for Ronaldo. But when Mbappé chose PSG, Madrid refused to sanction a Ronaldo move away, though they did promise to bump up his salary.
And it's this promise, which Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid president, has failed to keep that has led to Ronaldo deciding he definitively wants to leave Madrid next summer for Old Trafford. Real Madrid though appear to have other plans for the Portuguese... Florentino Pérez knows all too well that convincing PSG's president to sell Neymar will be a tough call, so much so that Nasser Al Khelaifi recently said that a move for Neymar to Madrid was simply "impossible". But the Real Madrid president has an ace up his sleeve: Ronaldo.

According to Spanish radio programme El Larguero, the Real Madrid president's aim is to offer PSG the Portuguese star as part of a deal to bring Neymar to the Bernabéu. Ronaldo's inner circle are aware of the possibility and the player too knows about it. And of course the supposed aim of Madrid to use him to lower the price of Neymar hasn't been exactly well received by the Madrid star. In fact it's only increased his desire for a move.
